On July 6 at 10:06 p.m., police watching Thornton's gas station, 601 S. Harlem, because of recent local armed robberies saw a tan Infiniti park away from the gas pumps. A man appeared to be slumped over in the front seat.

On June 28 at 4:02 p.m., an officer at Roosevelt and Hannah who noticed a passing driver wasn't wearing his seatbelt, ran the vehicle's plate and learned the auto was owned by a man with a suspended license and an active Piatt County arrest warrant.

On June 24 at 1:52 a.m. witnesses reported that a tall man in a black T-shirt and cream-colored pants was destroying the Red Eye newspaper box at the southeast corner of Des Plaines and Washington by kicking and stomping it.

A toothpaste thief's luck ran out after he was arrested and slapped with felony retail theft on the afternoon of June 7. CVS security contacted police after watching surveillance footage of Kenyatta Cage, 37, of Chicago, stuffing nine tubes of toothpaste in his pants.

Defiant chip thief charged with obstruction
A Bellwood man reportedly walked into a convenience store on the 700 block of Desplaines Avenue and blatantly swiped a bag of Jay's Hot Chips on the night of April 12. When the clerk asked 22-year-old Corey Lee if he had any intention of paying for the bag - as Lee was casually walking out the door - the alleged thief implied that he didn't and simply replied: "[Expletive] you."

Woman falsifies name, convulses in police station
On the night of April 29, the driver and one of the two passengers in a vehicle that was curbed for a seatbelt violation near the intersection of Marengo Avenue and Jackson Boulevard were arrested. At police headquarters, though, one of the arrestees reportedly dropped to the floor and began convulsing as if having a seizure.

Police came to Mugsy's Tavern, 7640 Madison at 3 a.m. on April 24 after complaints that a man had barricaded himself in the bathroom and refused to come out. A bar worker told police the man's girlfriend was still sitting on a barstool waiting for him; she was crying and visibly upset.

Teen caught after reckless driving
A 19-year-old Chicago resident, reportedly upset by the death of a family member, stole his brother's car and forced police to follow his path of reckless driving. Late at night on April 12, police observed Marquis Jackson speeding near Harrison St. and Circle Ave. without any lights on.

Pizza driver fends off attack
The search is on for a masacked attker who attempted to mug a pizza deliveryman last week. And so far Forest Park police have few leads in the case. A delivery driver from McGaffer's Saloon, 7737 Roosevelt Rd, attempted to deliver five pizzas to a home on the 7600 block of Yuba St. on April 3.

Three individuals were allegedly involved in a burglary on the 100 block of Marengo Avenue late April 4. Police responded to the reported incident and saw George Huff, 21, of Chicago, seated in a dated green Toyota parked in the alley behind Marengo.
